Where to begin... we had a great week (a little less for Mike) with the P-fam in Sanibel. So much fun to get to spend some great time with the girls before the return to work on Monday (!!!!). We really had a blast, with a rigorous schedule of breakfast, beach, lunch, nap, "big pool," maybe a little basketball, maybe even a drink or "grilled cheese/fries" at the pool bar, dinner, and bed. Then repeat. The big pool was a HUGE hit, mainly due to the slide. I made E go with me the first time, and we simultaneously realized that was not the way to go. I'm up for a good slide, and did go alone on a tube, but the adults had some serious drag. And Ebes certainly did not need my help. She was using her arms to speed herself up by her third attempt, and by the end of the trip was eyeing the big kids for tips (going backward, making a train with other kids, etc).
Claire hit the slide as well. (Not really, just the final foot or so with G'pa standing in the water holding her). She doesn't look too thrilled in this pic, but I think she enjoyed getting to check out what Big Sister was up to.
We were also pretty happy that Ebie was interested in the beach this year. She liked collecting shells (and then throwing them into the ocean), building sandcastles, a little bit of exploring the ocean (although we did hear later "my scared"), and even going on a kayak with her dad.
Claire also logged some beach time (under an umbrella, often chilling with her Grammy). She's such a chill baby.
E's other favorite pool activity was being thrown. She is crazy brave - I alternate between being impressed and vaguely nervous. One video is already up, another to come.
